The new ERASMUS+ at DICCA- UniGE
DICCA, in particular the Urban Planning Research Group, led by Prof. Francesca Pirlone as scientific coordinator, has launched the ERASMUS+ project “SocioEcoHoods “Teaching for the Socio-Ecological Transformation of Neighborhoods: An Inter- and Transdisciplinary Approach”.
The protagonists of the project are the students, who will be guided through this experience by researchers from partner Universities!
The goal is to promote shared values, civic engagement, and participation through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary learning. This includes involving local communities and stakeholders to ensure successful urban regeneration and sustainable neighborhood development.
The project originated from an event organized by the Urban Planning Research Group together with students from the University of Münster, who visited Genoa in May 2024 on a study trip, accompanied by professors from Münster and Liechtenstein. Due to the strong alignment of the topics discussed at the Genoa meeting, the researchers decided to develop an interdisciplinary project centered around students and cities.
The project leader is the University of Liechtenstein; the partnership also includes the University of Genoa (UniGe), University of Münster (Germany), and University of Bergen (Norway).
Learning activities in the 4 cities
SocioEcoHoods includes various activities such as in-person or online lectures, workshops, hackathons, field visits, and discussions with local stakeholders, … that will take place at the four partner University: Münster, Vaduz, Bergen, Genova, with the award of academic credits (CFU).
The project offers a unique opportunity to learn and work on sustainable urban transformation projects!
